What can I do if given fax temporary tags while waiting on title and?

This question is a bit difficult to answer because there is not a lot of information. For example, how long has it been since your purchased the car? Did you buy from a private party? If so, and if you also bought during the COVID shutdown, then any proper DMV work is likely delayedSince many of the offices are closed and/or backlogged. But, I am not sure how a private party would be able to produce any sort of temporary tags, regardless of method of delivery. So that is the first thing to clarify. From whom did you buy the car, a dealership or a private party? Secondly, did they give you the temporary tags at time of purchase? Normally, the temporary tag is affixed to the car, especially if new. If you bought a used car with registration and license that are paid for the current year, even though in the previous owners name, that might not be a requirement where you live. Any irregularity in a transaction involving an auto sale is usually reported to your states department or bureau of motor vehicles. Again, due to closures, immediate answers might not be available. If you financed the car, then you can also call the lender about the unusual paperwork.
